Powering Australian Mines since 1981KPS have built, owned and operated over 50 off-grid power stations in the most remote parts of WA, the Northern Territory and South Australia.
KPS have provided off-grid power to some of the biggest names in Australian mining since 1981.
Since our beginnings in the West Australian goldfields in Kalgoorlie, we have built, owned and operated over 50 off-grid power stations in the most remote, hot and harsh regions in Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia.
Today, we are the most reliable, cost-effective and innovative Independent Power Provider (IPP) in Australia, with experienced local management and service personnel based at our operational hubs in either Kalgoorlie or Perth.
We operate an unrivalled portfolio of power stations with more than 300MW of generation capacity running on a variety of traditional fuel types – natural gas, LNG, dual fuel and diesel.
As the off-grid power market continues to transition to green energy, we are increasing our focus on the integration of market-leading technology to convert traditionally-fuelled power stations into modern, fuel efficient hybrid power stations, as well as building new state of the art, hybrid power stations on greenfield sites.
KPS are Australian-owned and operated by Pacific Energy, a West Australian-based company once listed on the Australian Stock Exchange that was taken private in 2019 by Queensland-based diversified alternatives fund QIC.
KPS hire the most skilled and experienced trade professionals in the industry to provide reliable, fuel-efficient power to our remote mine site power stations, while the quality of our management and administration teams are second to none.
We employ over 95 talented people in our head office and workshop in Perth and our Kalgoorlie office and workshop. We value self-motivated, quick-learners who are comfortable working on their own or together in a team, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
We are proud of our apprenticeship program, and recruit multiple new apprentices every year to learn in a supportive and professional environment in our modern workshops.
We service remote mine-site power stations around the country from both our Kalgoorlie and our Perth facilities. KPS service comes from local experts with a full inventory of critical spares. All of our power stations are remotely-monitored.
